Creating Ansys apps

In this guide, you can learn how to add new apps to the App catalog as a Publisher.

1. Click the My account icon.
2. Select the Publisher Apps tab.
3. Click Create new App.

4.  Add an App Name.
5. Provide an App version.
6. Click Choose file, and browse the image on your computer to upload an App Logo.

Good to know: For optimal display, use 80x80 pixel images. The upload limit is 2 MB and only PNG, JPG and SVG files are supported.

7. Add a short description of the image in the Alternative text field.

Good to know: The Alternative text is used by screen readers and shown when the image is not loaded.

8. Define the Compatible Ansys Releases.

9. Define the Required Product.

Good to know: If the Compatible Ansys Releases and Required Product category you have provided matches with an existing category, you can select it from the drop-down menu. You can add more than one category.

 10. Set a Price to your app. Leave the value 0 if the app is free.

Good to know: The Price is in U.S. dollars (USD) only.

Good to know: If you enter a Price the Download Button URL field will be replaced with the Buy Button URL field.

11. Fill out the Download Button URL or the Buy Button URL field to define where the button leads to.

Good to know: A correct link address should contain the full URL. e.g., https://www.example.com. The edit form will not let you save if you try to use a different format.

12. You can provide additional details about the pricing (e.g. 1 year lease fee) in the Price Additional Info field.

13. Provide an App Summary. This summary will be displayed on the App card.

14. Provide and format the content in the App Description field to add information about the application.

15. Provide and format the content in the Use Cases field to display the most common uses cases.

16. Provide and format the content in the Key Benefits field to highlight the benefits of the application.

17. Click Choose file and browse the image on your computer.

Good to know: An unlimited number of images can be uploaded to this field. The size limit is 2 MB per file. The allowed types are PNG, JPG and JPEG.

18. Add a short description of the image in the Alternative text field.

Good to know: The Alternative text is used by screen readers and shown when the image is not loaded.

19. Fill out the Title field to give the image a caption to display.

20. You can add more images by clicking Add a new file.

21. You can upload videos by clicking the media add page link which will open a new window. If you (or anyone else within your Publisher group) already uploaded a video you want to use here, then skip to Step 22.

  1. Add a Name to the video.
  2. Click Choose file and browse the video on your computer.

Good to know: Only MP4 files are supported with a 500 MB upload limit.

    3. Add a Description to the video. It will be displayed as a video caption.
    4. Click Save, then return to the Create Ansys App tab.

22. Type in the name of the video in the Use existing media field, then select your video from the drop-down.

Good to know: Only videos that belong to the same Publisher group will appear in the drop-down.

23. Mark the Published checkbox.

24. Click Save.
