Ansys is diligently advancing efforts to revamp the Store to deliver a more personalized experience, while improving the quality and scope of what is published. This initiative aligns with our overarching vision to establish a refined and sophisticated Marketplace.
Back in August, we contacted publishers to resubmit their apps and solutions to undergo a new curated process. The response has been very positive, and more than 50 apps have been received so far. The objective of this new process is to guarantee the quality, compliance and relevance of the listings and remove risks associated with the code.
To achieve this, Ansys is investing many resources in this thorough process. It consists of the below steps:
Throughout the process, different Ansys teams are involved, and we will explain and highlight some of the collaboration with the different steps.
- The publishers submit all the info in an intuitive way which is stored in our reference database.
- The Partnerhips team reviews all the company info to make sure it fulfills all Ansys partnership standards.
- Both virus scan and code scan are carried out to every app carefully to remove any obvious code risks.
- Two reviews are carried over.
- The first one gathers representatives from Technology, ACE, Partnerships, Legal, Compliance and Developer relations.
- Product Management representatives from the relevant physics, solutions and industry.
- The QA team runs basic testing on all apps to make sure they run as expected.
- The Pricing team is contacted in case of paid apps or solutions to handle them correctly.
- And lastly, the Documentation team reviews each app documentation published in the Ansys Store to ensure it is helpful and appropriate before the app is pushed to production.
The Store Team keeps engaged with the publishers during the process in case there is any challenge or issue trying to help all the apps/solutions be published in a timely manner.
The whole process is supported by different systems that enable the collaboration of all the different teams. There is still some work to be done on our roadmap to make the process even more efficient as our vision is to scale to be able to proficiently handle an increasing number of submissions.
It has been a journey from the inception of this process to making this announcement, and we are excited for the forthcoming developments ahead. We also want to take this opportunity to thank all the teams that collaborated with us to make these advancements possible.
