App Description

Previously, the Mechanical Enterprise license was required for coupled thermal-electric analysis. However, starting with 2020R2, the Mechanical Pro / Premium license also enables thermal-electric analysis using the legacy SOLID69 element.

However, since this is not a standard feature, it requires cumbersome configuration involving command input. Therefore, this tool provides a dedicated menu for SOLID69 thermal-electric analysis on the user interface, enabling easy setup.

※ The following limitations apply due to the use of SOLID69

  • Only Joule heating thermoelectric effects can be considered
  • Only low-order elements are supported for meshing

Key Benefits

The thermal-electric coupled analysis can be configured using the [thermal-electric] system from the standard menu with the Mechanical Enterprise license.

While Mechanical Premium/Pro licenses also support thermal-electric analysis using the legacy SOLID69 element, this is not a standard feature. Configuration requires command input, making the process cumbersome.

Therefore, this tool adds a dedicated menu to the Mechanical interface for SOLID69 thermal-electric analysis, enabling easy configuration.

Use Cases

  • When performing thermal-electric analysis using the legacy SOLID69 element with the Mechanical Premium/Pro licenses
